In a powerful demonstration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Powerica Ltd., has joined forces with Being Sevak Charitable Trust to empower visually impaired and differently-abled individuals across Mumbai through the pioneering initiative-Project Atmanirbhar. This collaboration has brought about transformative changes in the lives of these marginalized communities, helping them to lead independent and dignified lives.
Project Atmanirbhar: A Mission to Empower: The core mission of Project Atmanirbhar, led by Being Sevak Charitable Trust, is to foster self-sufficiency among visually impaired, specially-abled individuals, and marginalized communities. With a focus on creating opportunities for freedom, the project equips beneficiaries with tools and resources that enable them to earn a livelihood while contributing meaningfully to society. The Trusts vision is to create a world where every individual regardless of their challenges has the right to live with dignity.
Key Initiatives under sdde-648-hard-piston-training-xhlguiN Project Atmanirbhar: The Trust has rolled out several impactfulfatds under the project, each designed to provide lasting support and economic empowerment:
Rozgaar Booths : These small BMC-permitted kiosks give specially-abled individuals the chance to run small businesses in various parts of Mumbai, including Santacruz, Ghatkopar, Byculla & many more places. The booths provide them with a steady source of income, helping them build a self-sustaining livelihood. In partnership with Thakur Global Business School, management students volunteer to offer valuable guidance, helping beneficiaries to start and manage their businesses effectively.
Tricycles for Mobility : The Tricycle to Lifecycle initiative is aimed at enhancing mobility for specially-abled individuals. These tricycles empower them to engage in daily activities and reduce dependence on others, allowing them to lead more autonomous lives. The tricycles also symbolize freedom and dignity, breaking down barriers to mobility.
Flour Mills and Sewing Machines: Widowed women and specially-abled individuals receive flour mills and sewing machines, which allow them to generate income from home. The flour mills help to create small businesses that provide financial help, while the sewing machines offer opportunities for earning a steady livelihood and helping these women to maintain dignity and self-reliance.
A Shared Commitment to Change : Trustee Mr. Priyank Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude to Powerica Ltd., Mr. Shreekant Bhasin,- Head CPCB , Mr. Jai Ram Oberoi, Associate Drector and CSR Team for their invaluable contributions. "Thanks to Powericas generous support, many individuals now have the opportunity to live with dignity and financial strong. One of the Visually Impaired Member Mr. Jayesh Katila has successfully launched his business, Ekta Communication, through our Rozgaar Booth initiative, which has become his happy place of work," said Mr. Shah. "This partnership is a shining example of how collaboration can create meaningful social change.
