The first and the last
Imran Khan and girlfriend Avantika were the first guests to arrive. Shahid Kapoor was the last (girlfriend Priyanka Chopra is away shooting in Bangkok). Other solos included Lara Dutta (overdressed for a birthday party in a long gown and with way too much goop in her hair)
Guest appearances
Ekta Kapoor breezed in and stayed for fifteen whole minutes. She looked sexy in a black number (but did she have to wear them with those hideous shoes?) She attributed her slimmer look to the colouru00a0 black, "Even though I am Jeetendra's daughter, I don't own anything white because I didn't inherit his body type. My body is courtesy Shobhaa but no complaints, I got her brains too."u00a0u00a0u00a0
Couple capers
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri:u00a0He hates wearing formals but made an exception for the birthday boy. Gauri wore a stunning black mini and enough diamonds to light up the place. She kept requesting for more light in the dimly lit hall.
Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan: The couple made a late entry and looked fabulous. Karan caught Abhi by his hand and dragged him to SRK and left them together to chat.u00a0
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena: Saif zipped into the hotel in his new wheels with girlfriend Bebo by his side and her sis Karisma Kapoor in the back seat. When ribbed about his fast and furious style driving, he protested, "No way, I had two ladies in the car, how could I drive rashly?"u00a0
Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne: He was dressed in a casual shirt and jeans, and his unruly curly tied in a pony. Sussanne wore a short grey/ black number and looked skinnier than she ever has before.u00a0 Just like Vidya Balan, who ran out like Cinderella at twelve something.
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia: She arrived a good two hours after him. When someone remarked that Riteish was looking buffer, he asked, "What? I have put on weight?" Good to know it's not just women who are always fretting about the extra pounds.

The party winded up at 3 am but not before Arjun, Hrithik, Farhan And Abhishek got up on the bar counter and danced. The awesome foursome, AbhiAsh and SRK-Gauri left in one car with K Jo. Gauri was seen sitting on Chota B's lap. So sad the photogs didn't capture this classic moment on cameras. They were protesting because they weren't allowed into the venue. Whose loss is it anyway?
