Producer Prakash Jha and director Alankrita Srivastava have been taken by surprise by the statements made by the Censor Board chief Sharmila Tagore. According to her the promos of their film Turning 30 are being aired without the censor certificate. Certain aspects of the promo have been found to be objectionable.

Says Alankrita, "We have copies of the censor certificate which we will release to the media today. No channel will air film promos without proper certification. It is shocking that after the film's release, the censors find the woman character in the film objectionable, At the same time they allow Sheila Ki Jawani and Munni Badnaam Hui, but they cannot take a modern liberated woman. It is shocking."
