An initiative of âGR8!', women achievers from all walks of life, like Arts, Science, Medicine, Commerce, Social Awareness, Sports and many others across the Middle East were felicitated.
Another unique feature of the ceremony was, the âCelebration of the 100 Years of Indian Cinema', for which icons like Rani Mukherjee, Juhi Chawla, Karishma Kapoor, Malaika AroraKhan and Padmini Kolhapure were honoured for their impact and achievements that have crossed all boundaries of caste, creed and countries.
Guests included Mugdha Godse, Zarine Khan, Anushka Ranjan and others. This year, the ceremony anchored by the noted Indian actor/director, Rohit Roy and the ebullient UAE TV host, Rahaf Al Tawil, had rare razzle-dazzle as well as sublime moments, when illustrious women such as Fatima Al Jaber (COO of Al Jaber Group), Shada Naseer and Nujood Ali (Yemen- based women activists who rebelled against child marriage), Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe and others were adorned for the sterling accounts they have given of themselves in various fields.
The evening was punctuated with stunning performances by scintillating stars such Urmila Matondkar, singer Ash King, Gauhar Khan and the enthralling TV heartthrobs, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh. As a socially concerned corporate citizen, Gitanjali has taken up different initiatives for empowerment and upliftment of socially underprivileged sections. Through Beti, Gitanjali will identify causes in need of a voice and assistance, and will conduct events throughout the year across cities to raise funds for them.u00a0
