By great, I don't mean that they have to necessarily understand classical music. They just need to connect to what I perform.
A good rapport between a musician and the audience is important. It gives an idea to the performer about the kind of music that will be appreciated. The choice of ragas depends on that. If the audience doesn't enjoy, then that defies the whole purpose of a concert."
