The 57-year-old actress, who began her journey with 'Sawan Bhadon' in 1970, has come a long way with films like 'Do Anjaane', 'Umrao Jaan' and 'Silsila' adorning her glittering career spanning 30 years.
Each year, IIFA honours a member of the film fraternity who has made significant contributions to Indian cinema and this year Rekha will be recognised for her achievements.
"I am extremely humbled to be appreciated. It has been a long journey and hopefully my passion and love for cinema will continue to reach out to all my fans. I am especially happy to be honoured at a time when the industry celebrates a centenary of Indian films," said Rekha.
