She may have lived around the world all her life, but Lisa Haydon's heart lies in Mumbai.

Perched on a ghoda gaadi at the Gateway of India, the supermodel reminisces about the good old days, when as a child she would come here with her parents for a treat.

Excited about debuting in a Bollywood flick next week, Lisa tells CS what she finds dear in Mumbai, the city that's now her home:

Aqua deal

I love this city because it's been built along the ocean. In fact, that was a big deciding factor for me to make my home here. Back in Australia, my home was just across the ocean. I was literally on the beach all the time. I so love water that I don't think I can ever live in a place that doesn't have plenty of it to look at. Also, I love the walking culture here. Mumbai is one of the safest cities in the world to walk on and I often stroll down the Breach Candy area where I live.

Grub talk
I love South Indian food, especially dosa. I'm a bit scared about eating on the streets, but I love frequenting Udipi restaurants. The food there is piping hot and hygienic. I do eat bhel and paani puri at home. But I adore Japanese cuisine and think that Mumbai has the best Japanese food to offer outside Japan. Wasabi and Aurus are my favourite restaurants; the food is just amazing.

New facet
An interesting facet to Mumbai is its unity in diversity. North Mumbai is so different from South Mumbai and yet the two are so connected to each other. And the work culture is completely addictive. I'm thankful to God that I've got work here. It is a city of dreams and everyone is trying to do something or the other. I love living here also because I get to be close to my family and friends. And let me tell you, I simply adore the new shopping centre at Lower Parel; I visit the place almost every weekend!

At home
As a model, I can live anywhere in the world, but as Lisa, I don't think I'll ever feel at home anywhere else but in Mumbai. No matter where I travel, the moment I'm back in Mumbai, I feel like I'm back home.
