Actor Samir Soni is on a new high. His performance in I Hate Luv Storys has been well-appreciated and he's all set to tie the knot with lady love Neelam Kothari.
"The media has already set the month for our wedding," says Samir with a laugh. The actor has also written a piece for the book Chicken Soup for the Single Soul, which is set to release next month. He talks to CS about his soon-to-be-gone singlehood and his literary inclination:
Love actually
It is a great feeling to be in love. You have someone to lean on, a person you can trust, and a confidante in your partner. It has brought a sense of completeness in my life. You can share your joys and sorrows with this wonderful person. When I was single, I had all the freedom in my life, but one can't spend an entire life without a partner.
It is great to know that there's someone whom I can call up at the end of a tiring day and just talk to. For me, love is all about sharing and understanding.u00a0
The single life
A relationship brings a lot of security and happiness in your life, which is a great feeling. If you always look at relationships and feel that your responsibilities in life will only increase then you're better off being single.
But at the same time, I feel that people who think that they can't live without relationships are mistaken. It's equally important for someone to learn to live a single life. It's okay to be single (smiles).
Writing therapy
Well, whenever I feel confused or too stressed, I pick up a piece of paper and write down my thoughts. It brings some much-needed clarity. Writing is an introspective exercise. I don't write to address someone, but for myself. It helps me explore my inner self. When the publishers approached me to write an article for this book, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I felt flattered to know that they had approached me amongst a host of other celebrities.
