Amitabh Bachchan has sent a legal notice to a paan masala company for airing commercials featuring him after he stepped down as brand ambassador. Last month, on his 79th birthday, he ended his contract and had returned the money he received. Big B's move followed the backlash for endorsing a product harmful to health. The veteran superstar wasn't aware that it "falls under surrogate advertising". In September, the National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication appealed to Bachchan to not promote paan masala.
Over the weekend, the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off in Goa with performances by Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, Mouni Roy, and Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh. Khan regaled with his trademark moves on chartbusters from the Dabangg franchise. Singh's livewire act cut across decades, including Yeh desh hai veer jawanon ka, Zindagi ek safar, Pyaar hume kis mod pe le aaya. Kapoor danced to motivational songs, Kar har maidaan fateh and Badal pe paon hain. Karan Johar, who hosted the opening ceremony, found it "electrifying" to be surrounded by the "positive energy" of cinema. The filmmaker added, "May we continue to celebrate cinema for decades to come with such zeal."

It was a Sunday done right for Arjun Kapoor. He began the day by tucking into Turkish eggs prepared by ladylove Malaika Arora, who posted that there is never "a dull moment or a bad picture" when he is around. Kapoor then unveiled his look in Aasmaan Bhardwaj's Kuttey. His long hair is now short and facial fuzz trimmed for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's son's directorial debut. Kapoor wrote, "Wahi saal, naya maal. Moustache man." The crime drama also stars Tabu and Radhika Madan.
Ahead of Dharmendra's 86th birthday on December 8, son Sunny Deol whisked him off for a vacation to his favourite destination - Himachal Pradesh. On Sunday, Dharmendra shared pictures from their trip and wrote, "I am extremely happy. My darling son took me for a holiday to beautiful Himachal. Lovely trip, a shy and introverted Sunny is opening up and getting friendly to his old papa." Last month, Deol had taken off with mother Prakash Kaur to the mountains. Sunny is playing the doting son.
Fugly (2014) and Raag Desh (2017) actor Mohit Marwah's wife Antara Motiwalla shared the first glimpse of their daughter, Thea, who was born on October 20. "One month of loving you," wrote Tina Ambani's niece. Marwah's cousins, Rhea Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor, showered love on the newborn. Marwah and Motiwalla tied the knot in 2018.
Though Alia Bhatt has been busy attending the wedding festivities of buddies, Anushka Ranjan and Aditya Seal, the shooting of her long-in-the-making Brahmastra is finally complete. Over the weekend, co-actor Slow Cheeta shared a picture with Ranbir Kapoor and Saqib Ayub from the set of the mythological drama at Film City to share the news. "This film has given me almost four years of amazing memories, new friends and experiences that I will keep with me forever It's a wrap," wrote the rapper. He added that Kapoor and Bhatt will be "a treat to watch" in Ayan Mukerji's "magnum opus". The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and South star Nagarjuna.
