Abhishek Bachchan
There are actors who leave no stone unturned to bag or promote films. And there is Abhishek Bachchan, who quietly goes about his movies, lets his work do the talking and bags some more.
The latest is that the Dasvi actor is in talks with Om Raut for an action drama. The filmmaker, who is currently readying Adipurush - starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, for a January 2023 release - has apparently sounded off Abhishek about his next subject. The actor has liked the idea and is keen to collaborate with him. We hear the subject is one that Abhishek has not explored before and is eager to venture into unfamiliar territory. The project is in nascent stages, the two are keen to team up.
A picture of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt - from the time Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to make Balika Vadhu with them - has gone viral. RK was 20 and Alia was 11 at that time, when the filmmaker was working on Black and she had come to audition for the young girl's role. Though impressed with her spontaneity, SLB was keen to cast her for a different film and took pictures of her with Ranbir.
While Balika Vadhu was shelved, the filmmaker framed the picture of RK and Alia, and sent it to her on her last birthday. A glimpse of the frame was seen in the video she recently shared online to mark 30 days of Gangubai Kathiawadi's release. While Alia removed the video later on, someone saved the picture and it has been creating a frenzy online ever since.
Over three years since the last season of his talk show, Karan Johar will soon return with the seventh outing. He is likely to wrap up a major chunk of his directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani next month. Sources say that is when he will begin shooting for the new season of Koffee with Karan. The pre-production has already begun and the show is expected to go on air in June. Actors like Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Rashmika Mandana will be KJo's guests for a chat over coffee.
Nayanthara and fiance Vignesh Shivan are said to be tying the knot later this year. The actor and the director have been in a relationship since they collaborated on Naanum Rowdy Dhaan six years ago. The couple had an intimate engagement last year. Reports are rife that Nayanthara and Vignesh will get married before he begins filming his next, starring Ajith. The Valimai actor's 62nd movie is set to roll in December. Since Vignesh will be busy with it for most of 2023, the couple is contemplating walking the altar before that. Interestingly, Vignesh and Nayanthara - who makes her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan for director Atlee's next - have been spotted visiting several temples of late.
Shriya Pilgaongar, who turned 33 yesterday, is over the moon with all the praise she is getting for her performances in her two new shows. While she plays a lawyer in Guilty Minds, she essays the role of a forensic expert in Murder in Agonda. "I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present!" exclaims the actor. Thrilled with the response and reviews, Shriya adds, "I'm currently soaking in all the love and I'm truly grateful for this surreal experience."
It has now been confirmed that Kajal Aggarwal Kitchlu's role in Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's Friday release, Acharya, has been chopped. Director Koratala Siva recently revealed that he had written a fun part for her, but the screenplay didn't give any scope for a romantic track for the megastar.
Siva felt that it would be unfair to give an actor of her stature a two-scene role, and his producers agreed. He explained his predicament to her, she understood his viewpoint and they parted on an amicable note. Kajal has taken a break after she and husband Gautam Kitchlu recently welcomed their first child, Neil.
It appears as if Sara Ali Khan is borrowing inspiration from actor-father Saif Ali Khan, who is also a history buff and has done a period film, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The Atrangi Re actor has reportedly given her nod to Ek Thi Daayan director Kanan Iyer's next film. It is a patriotic movie set against the backdrop of the 1942 Quit India Movement. Even though it is being planned as an OTT original, Sara is gung-ho about the project that is being backed by Karan Johar.
While some actors take lessons to hone their acting skills, Mouni Roy prefers classes for spiritual growth. She shared a video online yesterday, saying she "got to recite the chaturshloki Bhagwad Gita in class" recently. Listing the verses, also "called the summary verses that contain the essence of the whole epic", the Brahmastra actor concluded her post saying, "Hope some of you have been studying with me all along."
