Kareena Kapoor Khan is the latest guest on Mid-day's Sit With Hitlist series of conversations. The Bollywood diva opened up on many topics during the chat, ranging from nepotism to the immense attention her elder son Taimur has been getting since he was born. Kareena also talks about the everlasting appeal of her character Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, while other character-driven roles that did not win enough appreciation.
Even though she comes from one of the most illustrious film families, Kareena has proven time and again that she deserves every bit of the success she has achieved. That is reflected in her statement when she says, "Now we are hardly nepotistic yaar, we have worked for 23 years, ismein nepotism ki kya baat hai?"
Having debuted in 2000 with Refugee, she has completed 23 years in Bollywood, with several noteworthy performances in films like Chameli, Dev, Omkara and Yuva. However, Kareena rues the fact that not many of her performances got their due appreciation. "Dev, Chameli, Yuva, they were character-driven. But they never really got their due," she says.
However, one role of hers that always remains a fan favourite is that of Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. It's a vibe Kareena continues to channel in real life, too. "23 years later, we are still discussing it," the actress emphasises the everlasting appeal of the role.

While she has some great films in her kitty, somehow none of the roles she played opposite her husband Saif Ali Khan worked. Tashan, the film that brought them together in real life, was a massive flop. But Kareena says she thinks the film is 'quite cool'.
Kareena was also asked about many actresses in the yesteryears giving up their careers post-marriage. "My mother-in-law worked throughout, she worked after her marriage," she points out.
The actress also answers the burning question about her elder son Taimur being at the centre of massive media hype ever since he was born. "But why, there's no reason," she asks.
She also talked about the so-called cat fights among actresses in the 90s and 2000s.
Kareena was recently seen in the Netflix film Jaane Jaan with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. She was asked about the difference in experience acting with an actor like Jaideep as opposed to a star like Salman Khan. Watch her reply in the full interview, out on October 14.
