In pics: Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon is currently considered one of the finest actresses in the industry. She has delivered major blockbusters in Hindi cinema and stands out as an outsider who has successfully made it to the top. In a recent interview with Vogue, the actress shared insights into her thoughts about nepotism.
Kriti who recently got a national award for her outstanding performance in Mili shared that there is a need to create equal opportunity for everyone. The actress told the magazine, "The industry can become more accessible for outsiders if we start creating equal opportunities - if you're launching someone from the industry, make sure you're also giving space to someone who doesn't belong but is probably more talented," she theorises. "Slowly, very slowly, the world is tilting towards talent and scripts rather than stars and big names."
Earlier, Kriti Sanon, in an interview with Film Companion talked about how male-led films are positioned differently so that they make big money. She said, "It's a bit of a circle because the male-led films are budgeted and positioned in a very larger-than-life grand-scale kind of format and they end up earning that money and I feel like someone needs to really take the front and the risk on positioning a female-led film on that scale."
Further, while talking about the female-led film's positioning she said, "limit it in terms of either we get scared of what it's gonna earn or not earn, and we sort of limit the positioning and aspirational value of it and maybe that's why it doesn't end up earning that kind of money."
