A lot of actors played memorable supporting roles in Hindi films from the 60s to the 80s. Most of them can be recognised by their faces, but very few know them by their names. On actor Iftekhar's death anniversary, we remember some popular actors and help you out to know them better!

Iftekhar: Any Hindi movie was incomplete without him as a police officer. He donned the khaki in legendary films like Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer and Don. In addition, he also shocked many with his portrayal of the dreaded criminal in Khel Khel Mein.

Leela Mishra: She is the legendary Mausi from Sholay. Mishra acted in over 200 films as a character artist, prominent among them being Baton Baton Mein, Chashme Buddoor, Geet Gaata Chal, Nadiya Ke Paar, and Ram Aur Shyam among others. She passed away in the late 80s following a heart attack

Pinchoo Kapoor: He was a notable presence in many Bollywood blockbusters of the 70s and 80, mostly playing suave negative characters. Kapoor is most remembered for his roles in Don, Karz, Badaltey Rishtey, Kudrat and Avtaar

Yusuf Khan: That's the real name of Parveen Babi's famous bodyguard Zebisko in Amar Akbar Anthony. Khan also featured in Disco Dancer and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. He passed away following a heart attack in the 80s. His son Faraaz is also an actor, who has been seen in the movies Fareb and Mehndi

Yunus Parvez: One of the most recognisable character artists of the 70s and 80s, Parvez left his mark as Bade Babu in Gol Maal, Rahim Chacha, the Head porter in Deewar and Mansoor Miyan, Chedilal's Worker in Angoor. His death in 2007 went unnoticed, in a period before Twitter became a rage

Kamal Kapoor: The blue-eyed man of Hindi cinema, Kapoor is most remembered as Narang from Don. Kapoor's other memorable films include Amar Akbar Anthony, Deewaar and Meri Jung. He passed away in August 2010 at the age of 90. Like many others before him, his demise also went unnoticed

Dulari: A noted character artist, Dulari was part of over 130 Bollywood films some of them include Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Mujhe Jeene Do, Teesri Kasam, Deewar and Prem Rog. She was last seen in Guddu Dhanoa's Ziddi, which released in 1997. Dulari died in early 2013 at the age of 86. She had been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, and was bedridden for over two years

Harish Patel: You hated him as Roopchand in Mr. India, the shopkeeper who refuses to give Anil Kapoor food for his orphaned kids on credit. Patel's other notable appearances have been in Maine Pyar Kiya, Andaz Apna Apna, Akele Hum Akele Tum and the British-American comedy Run Fatboy Run

DK Sapru: Among Bollywood's most popular character artists, Sapru was part of numerous superhit films. He mostly played the father, judge or a rich businessman. The movies in his filmography include Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Heer Raanjha, Pakeezah, Zanjeer, Majboor, Deewar, and Kudrat

Manmohan Krishna: As a supporting actor, he was part of over 250 films, which included blockbuster movies like ,Naya Daur', Sadhana', Waqt' ,Hamraaz' and ,Deewar'. He went on to direct the 1980 film ,Noorie', which catapulted Poonam Dhillon to stardom
