Chhapaak: The movie, starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey, that hit theatres on January 10, 2020, is based on Laxmi Aggarwal's life. In 2005, at the age of 15, she was allegedly attacked by a spurned lover. Laxmi had to undergo several surgeries. Later, she took up the job of helping other acid attack survivors and promoted campaigns to stop such gruesome attacks. With Chhapaak, the makers let the audience know the state and conditions of acid-attack survivors.

Article 15: As the title itself suggests, the film is based on Article 15 which comes under Part III of the Constitution of India, that deals with the fundamental rights of each citizen. It secures them from all kinds of discrimination by the State on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth or any of them. The movie is an investigative thriller which deals with rape and murder of three innocent girls in rural Uttar Pradesh. Ayushmann Khurrana plays a cop who is investigating this case and during which he comes across this unnecessary discrimination, which is created on the basis of caste in some regions of India and he decides to fight back against it.
