It was Anupam Kher who became her anchor when she was diagnosed with cancer. Anupam took to social media and wrote, “I called #MahimaChaudhry a month back from US to play a very important role in my 525th film #TheSignature. Our conversation turned to her discovering that she has #BreastCancer. What followed is in this candid conversation between us. Her attitude will give hope to so many women all over the world. She wanted me to be part of her disclosing about it. She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! “You are my HERO!” Friends! Send her your love, warmth, wishes, prayers and blessings. Kirron Kher

Immediately after Kirron Kher got diagnosed with cancer, hubby Anupam Kher took to social media and posted this, "Just so that rumours don’t get the better of a situation Sikandar and I would like to inform everyone that Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment and we are sure she will come out of this stronger than before. We are very blessed that she is being looked after by a phenomenal set of doctors. She’s always been a fighter and takes things head on. She’s all heart and that’s why she has so many people who love her. So, keep sending your love to her in your prayers and in your heart. She is well on her way to recovery and we thank everyone for their support and love. Anupam and Sikandar".

Sonali Bendre

It was in the year 2018 when SonalI Bendre was diagnosed. She immediately flew to New York for treatment and returned to Mumbai in December 2018 after her treatment. After returning back, she took to social media and wrote an extremely heartfelt post stating, “How time flies... today when I look back, I see strength, I see weakness but most importantly I see the will to not let the C word define how my life will be after it... You create the life you choose. The journey is what you make of it... so remember to take #OneDayAtATime and to #SwitchOnTheSunshine #CancerSurvivorsDay”

Tahira Kashyap

Besides being the wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, she is also an acclaimed director and author. She was detected with cancer in 2018. She took to social media and wrote, “Value yourself, Nurture yourself. Have gone through this route hence can suggest please do regular self examinations. Younger age at times also doesn’t help. Do not become an ostrich if you feel something is wrong. The wrong only gets detected timely if you take action towards it. Action means letting the doctors examine you and to go through their protocol. YOU are very significant, worthy of adding lot of value! Never forget this please #earlybreastcancerdetection #breastcancerawareness #october #octoberbreastcancerawareness #missionorientedlife #valueaddinglife

Lisa Ray

She was having a successful career as a model and actress, But, destiny applied a break of sorts when she first learnt about her cancer diagnosis in June 2009. Not the one to bow down to the disease, Lisa fought the dreaded ‘C’ and how! Not just she became successful, but also became a role model of sorts to many women who are fighting cancer.

She took to social media yesterday and recalled her experience. She wrote, “Let me tell you something I wish more people understood about cancer (Or hard times). My center of gravity shifted after getting diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2009. A diagnosis is as individual as is a human reaction to a life altering event. The gravitational pull will not always be in the direction of healing. It’s not that simple. But what I can say today, 13 years later, is a fully realized life is not only possible but perhaps for some - like me- the result of passing through an experience that makes you face your mortality. That cuts very close to the bone. Yes. I am where I am because of it. I would never wish cancer or any serious illness on anyone (thoo thoo) but while we’re here together let me tell you : life is glorious in all it’s shades. I love this image taken shortly after my stem cell transplant, at a dear friend’s home in Goa, on the eve of celebrating my rebirth. I am shaken but oddly calm. Not yet wiser but stepping in the direction of grasping something I’d been searching for my whole life. And I’m melting, I can see a few layers sliding off me like a minor landslide. I’ll never forget this moment, the circle of friends who surrounded me and the inevitability of finding peace in unpredictably. The most real I’ve ever felt in a photo before or since. A way to immortalize a threshold. Thank you @anaitashroffadajania @farrokhchothia @vogueindia. I see you in ways you might not even see yourself”
