Jamie Foxx
Jamie Foxx is in talks to join Michael B Jordan in a courtroom drama titled Just Mercy. As reported by Variety, the film is an adaptation of Bryan Stevenson's memoir, "Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption."
It is the true story of Stevenson who fought for equality under the law in a problematic justice system. Oscar-winning actor Foxx will essay the role of a criminal who is on the death row, and is being defended by Stevenson, played by Jordan.
The film was originally from Broad Green Pictures, but the studio shut last year and the project has now been shifted to Warner Bros.
Destin Cretton, known for Short Term 12, will direct the film. He also co-wrote the script with Andrew Lanham. Gil Netter is set to produce, along with Jordan. Foxx will next be seen in the role of Little John in Lionsgate's Robin Hood.
