The Girlfriend: Rashmika Mandanna announces her 24th film, calls it a love story 'that's never been heard or seen before'

Rashmika Mandanna has established herself as one of the most promising faces of Indian cinema. Be it Telugu cinema or Hindi films, she has made her presence felt in every project that she signs. Today, Rashmika announced her next film.

Rashmika shared the announcement of her 24th film. She will be headlining a thriller, titled A Girlfriend. Sharing a video on Instagram, the actress wrote, "The world is full of great love stories. But there are those few love stories that haven't been heard or seen before. And ‘The Girlfriend' is one such. #RM24."

Workwise, Rashmika was last seen in Netflix's thriller, Mission Majnu. It starred her with Sidharth Malhotra. The actress made her Bollywood debut with Vikas Bahl's Goodbye starring Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta.

She is presently shooting for Pushpa 2: The Rule with Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil. The Sukumar directorial will release globally on Independence Day 2024. She will reprise her popular role, Srivalli, in the sequel.

On the other hand, Rashmika will soon start promoting Animal. The family drama co-stars Anil Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Tripti Dimri. Sandeep Reddy Vanga directs the multilingual project which is slated to release on December 1, 2023. Talking about Animal, she said in a statement, "The month of December has always been a lucky month for me. Starting from my debut with Kirik Party to Pushpa, Chamak, Anjani Putra, I have received immense love for all my movies that released in the month. Animal is going to be my 5th film that's now releasing in December, and I'm really thrilled about it."

She further added, "I'm eagerly waiting to see what audiences have to say about the movie and the character I'm essaying. It's a very different role for me, something I'd have never imagined myself doing before. So I am very excited to see what fans and critics have to say!"

Apart from this, Rashmika has Chhava with Vicky Kaushal, which is yet to be officially announced. She will star with Shahid Kapoor in a Hindi project. It is yet to be announced. Rashmika is also headlining Rainbow.
