Climate Budget
With Mumbai's AQI being an issue in the last year, the BMC has proposed a timely and first-ever Climate Budget to combat air pollution and will thus be publishing the Green Budget Book.

Education
The BMC said that according to the concept proposed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, a study group has been established to form an autonomous university with all inclusive courses for medical and paramedical education.

Learning
Facility of Gamified Learning App on the concept of ‘Learning through Games’ is being newly made available in a total of 19,401 tabs provided to the students of secondary schools of BMC. Also, four new CBSE Board Schools will be established in the year 2024-25. The new concept of Organic Farming (Kitchen Garden) will be implemented in 100 BMC schools to create an interest in agriculture. To enhance the quality of education of BMC school students, it is proposed to establish Innovative Mathematics and Science Centre in 25 schools of primary section on pilot basis.

Transport
For its ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road Project, the BMC in its budget has allocated a fund of Rs 2,900 crores. The BMC is making efforts to open a part of the Coastal Road from February 2024 and are determined to complete the project work by May 2024. For the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project, the civic body has allocated a fund of Rs 1, 870 crore. Meanwhile, a total budget provision of Rs 1160.95 crores is proposed in the revised expenditure for the fiscal year 2023-24.

BEST
According to the budget document, a total budget provision of Rs 928.65 crore has been allocated to BEST. BEST has planned to procure and deploy 2000 electric buses for Mumbai.
