... says actor R Madhavan, on his recent trip to the city to unveil his second wax statue
One of the sign of having arrived in Bollywood is to have Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London approach you for a life-size statue.
Maddy, as he's fondly called, posing for the shutterbugs with his wax statue at Joy alukkas on MG Road. His first wax statue was made by Joy Alukkas, Chennai. The actor is the ambassador of the jewellery brand.u00a0 |

So what's happening to the sequel to Tanu Weds Manu? Reports claim that the film will be set abroad and you will reprise your role of a committed husband with Kangna Ranaut playing your wife prone to infidelity.
Wow! That's fantastic. I think I'll ask the producers to give this twist to the sequel! I'm going on record saying that I haven't seen the script of the sequel yet. Last week, we had a meeting and we're still trying to figure out how to take the story forward. I'm not free till April next year and we only have December and January to finalise the script. If it doesn't work out, we'll not do it. There's no point doing it for the heck of it. That way we'll go back to square one.
You had once said that you are not successful enough in Bollywood to have a bungalow in Juhu and a private jet. But Tanu Weds Manu has certainly cemented your position in the industry as a successful solo hero.
Be it Rand De Basanti, Guru or 3 Idiots, the idea is to do one film a year and really wok hard on it. After 3 Idiots, everyone said, "Sign more films," but I signed just one - Tanu Weds Manu. It's my first solo hit and has certainly upped my position in the market. But I still don't have that bungalow in Juhu although I make enough money for myself. I'm a very rich actor in my head.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Your next, Jodi Breakers, has you paired opposite Bipasha Basu. An unusual pairing, must say.
We'll wrap up shoot next month. The tagline of the film is Single Rehne Ka Bejor Formula. Agreed it's an unusual casting, but I wouldn't do a film merely because of that. It's a very simply story and you wonder why no one wrote a story like this on couples. There's a little bit of romance, which I love to do and also drama. There's one song in the film which will be the song of the year.
The last few of your releases have all been on relationships. What's your take on the same?
People are constantly redefining the rules by which relationships work. For me, the only constant relationship is the one that you share with your parents, not even the one between siblings.
