How to go about itThe Wal-Mart of the business is The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) a premier national professional body established by an act of Parliament to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India. Admission is open throughout the year. Examinations are held twice a year, in June and December. The CS course is by correspondence, with a provision for optional oral coaching classes. There are three stages to be cleared to qualify as a Company Secretary - Foundation Programme for plus two students, Executive Programme for graduates and a Professional Programme. After qualifying the Executive and Professional Examination, students are required to undergo practical and modular training to become qualified company secretaries.
