What if you could sink into a bean bag under a starry sky, watch your favourite movie and munch on popcorn? Hold on, we are not talking about movie screenings in house gardens and lawns.

This week, Sandalwood actor Santosh will gift Bangaloreans the city's first open air cinema space which has been aptly named Moon light Theatre. One can enjoy the open air space two weekends in a month.

The actor and founder of Moon Light Theatre reveals that a recent visit to the USA inspired him to build theu00a0 theatre. "It is all about pampering oneself while watching a movie.

Unlike multiplexes, here you can sit on a reclining chair, bed or a bean bag and enjoy food, beverage and desserts while catching a movie," says Santosh. He adds that Bangalore's pleasant weatheru00a0 will certainly make this concept work here.
Spread over 40,000 square feet, Moon Light Theatre will be open to public with the screening of the much awaited Shah rukh Khan starrer Ra.One.u00a0
Santosh reveals that the ticket rates are at par with multiplexes and range between R 300 to 1, 000 depending on the kind of service that an audience opts for.
The Moonlight Theatre schedule is spread over five days and includes much more than screening of movies like Ra.One, Scream and Avatar. There would be art and lifestyle exhibitions displaying diverse products and art pieces.

After all, Moon Light Theatre is a space to promote Indian art, culture and tourism. "Moon Light Theatre aims to support anything related to art and entertainment. But I will not allow DJ nights in this space," shares Santosh.
According to him, nearly 15 art and 50 lifestyle stalls willu00a0 give the audience a break during the intervals. Artist Pratima Mulani, the curator of the art show reveals that nearly 12 artists will be showcasing 80 pieces over these five days. "The collection is a blend of mixed media, sculpture, wooden paintings and more.
Most of these artists are from the city but there are some from other parts of the country too," says Mulani. Artists like Nagappa, Krishna Rajendra and Ganesh Dodamani among others would be participating in this exhibition. Also, city-based artist Govind would be present during the day to draw life portraits.
Santosh believes that the exhibitions pair well with the bright and colorful ambience ofu00a0 Moon Light theatre. Explaining why he expects the open space to work for the audience, he says, "This city is always open to new things. Anybody in love with art and culture will be happy here."
