Euphony, the RD Burman foundation is back in town to recreate the magic of the legend. A legendary musician, who nearly ruled the musical scene in the country for generations, will be paid a fitting tribute by ten members of his erstwhile band. These musicians who played a role in creating some of Pancham's evergreen melodies will spin out the same for you while narrating anecdotes from the maestro's life. With 13 shows performed across the country and one in the city last year, Euphony this time plans to get Burman's fans up & close to the life he lived. Also, part of the tribute act will be city-based band Aurko.u00a0

Spend the weekend learning the right moves through Shoma Kaikini's Mumbai-based dance company Nrityanidhi. A two-day workshop will be conducted over the weekend to teach you the basics of movement and Kathak. The sessions will be two-and-a-half hour long each and will be instructed by Harshavardhan Singh, a student of Birju Maharaj. The batches will be divided into beginners and those who want to extend their knowledge in dance through a crash course.

A film titled in_transcience will take you through the lives of city-workers this weekend. The film which recently played at the International Contemporary Visual Art Festival in Europe tells the story of migrating workers and the contrasts the city displays, being an IT-hub on one side and a lost city of gardens on the other. Through the tales of the workers the film also delves into their lives beyond work and the many desires they house.u00a0

Head to the Ultimate Frisbee competition and get sporty this weekend. Different from the regular Frisbee you have played as children, this one is a team sport devoid of referees. Open to all age groups, Ultimate Frisbee is similar to American football where the disk is passed around in a team of seven until a designated end zone. The most important part of Ultimate Frisbee is that it does not have a referee and it is the spirit of the game is what defines the rules. People are expected to call their own fouls and everybody needs to know the rules. For the purpose of orienting those who are new to the game, sessions will be conducted on all three days between 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm.
