While the city may boast of several art galleries, Cosmic Heart Gallery marks a first thanks to its unique theme of being a space dedicated to inspirational and spiritual art. The gallery, which opens today, is the brainchild of Jalpa Vithalani, a rose farmer by profession and a practitioner of Reconnective Healing.
Vithalani says that the idea surfaced from a dream. "Cosmic Heart Gallery is all about carrying beauty and frequencies into people's homes; and showcasing art that touches a soul space and energises us. When an artist empties out, the creativity of the cosmos flows through and the artist becomes an instrument of the universe's expression," she explains.

The gallery's focus will be on displaying art that will inspire you to take a journey within. "Cosmic Heart endeavours to create and enhance that experience of just âbeing', whether you are in the gallery space, through the beautiful paintings it offers, the workshops and the Reconnective Healings which will be carried out in the gallery. The paintings will be about beauty, art, creativity and expression of the Absolute. We are speaking about art that awakens a frequency and encourages a journey within," adds Vithalani.

The concept of healing is also a part of their philosophy: "Healing and art are in tandem. Art therapy is popular abroad. It is about awakening the child within and having fun. When there is no mind and more heart, creativity from the cosmos flows through."
Apart from art shows and exhibitions, they offer artworks that can be gifted. Soon, they will start commissioning artworks and host workshops to teach art and craft as well. "We will introduce a unique line of hand painted and metaphysical jewellery (Lotus Sutra designs) to empower personalities, beautiful hand embroidered mandalas to enhance the beauty in homes, agate and jasper bowls, symbols of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother in crystals and thread as multi-dimensional works," states Vithalani.
What's in store?
For their inaugural show, they will present the works of young artists Pooja and Aparna Bangia, titled The Journey Begins⦠The sisters have a background in graphic design, fine art, textile and costume designu00a0from India and the United Kingdom. "The unique metamorphism is the synergy of the two artists as they actually paint together on each canvas. "The entire collection of these paintings has been featured in the book, The Fakir - Thoughts & Prayers by Ruzbeh N Bharucha," adds Vithalani.
The Bangia sisters explain that their art is a journey into mysticism and symbols as they travelled through moments of prayer, revelation and insight: "Each painting, always developed by four hands, is a journey of the spirit through a process of self and inner awareness. Forms take consistency through symbolic processes expressing the union of our inner and outer worlds, moments of discovery, expressions of energy, sometimes sublime and calm, at others explosive and intense. Our art is expressed by experimenting with different mediums be it sand, oils or natural pigments and colours."
