A new feature on WhatsApp will soon allow iOS users to watch YouTube videos right on the messenger app
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will soon allow iOS users to watch YouTube videos directly on the messaging app. The upcoming update for WhatsApp version 2.17.40 will enable users to watch YouTube videos in Picture-in-Picture, without opening YouTube. The feature is yet to roll out for public.
Once the feature rolls out, iOS users will be have the convenience of expanding a video without pausing it, resizing the video, sliding the video towards the right side of the screen to hide it and read the chats, and ultimately, watching a video on YouTube even without opening YouTube. The feature aims to provide a seamless experience of watching video on a messenger app.
According to reports, this new update will likely be available for iPhone 6, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and other similar big screen iPhones. The roll out date of teh feature is yet to be announced.
