A Bandra-based travel agent, Salim Merchant, was brutally stabbed by his landlord Ismail Mohammad on late Saturday night at his Naupada office in Thane.
Cafu00e9 Samundar's owner (landlord), who along with another man, named Sunil, cornered Salim and stabbed several times on his neck and back. Both the men fled when the helper of the travel agent came to his rescue. He was rushed to nearby hospital, where he is said to be serious.
Ismail had rented put space to Salim in the Cafu00e9 Samundar premises nine years ago from where the victim ran a travel agency. Ismail had been threatening Salim to vacate the place.
"My husband was continuously harassed by Ismail to vacate the place. He was being tortured in various ways, but this time they nearly killed him. Even the police didn't pay attention to us," said Tasnim Merchant, the victim's wife.

It was after Salim's family registered a case with the Naupada police station, that the police arrested Sunil under Section 307 of IPC for attempt to murder.
