On rescuing 2-year-old kidnapped from Dadar after 40-day captivity, cops discover that the child-snatching duo in Rajasthan used to sell kids to childless couples and practitioners of black magic
The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a couple on Sunday on charges of kidnapping a two-year-old boy, from Dadar Railway Station on May 13.
Two-year-old Suraj Sahu with his parents Madhvi and Rajesh
Abductions were only one aspect of their modus operandi, wherein they would kidnap children to sell them to childless couples or even to tantriks, who would offer them as human sacrifice.
The abductee Suraj Sahu was kidnapped on May 13, while waiting for a train with his parents, Madhvi and Rajesh Sahu.
Accosting the family, abductors Pushpa and Samar Singh Choudhary tried to strike up a conversation with them, in the course of which Pushpa and Madhvi exchanged numbers. Within minutes, the kidnappers had
disappeared with the child.
When notified, cops mounted an extensive search operation, tracking the kidnappers to the Alwar district in Rajasthan.

After the two abortive search missions, cops were third time lucky on Sunday.
During interrogation following their arrest, the couple revealed their modus operandi. After being rescued following 40 days in captivity, Suraj was accompanied to Mumbai on Monday, and returned to his parents yesterday.
"Suraj was lucky he had not been sold to anyone. If we hadn't rescued him when we did, something catastrophic could have happened," said a police officer.
