Four bodies were found brutally murdered in a farmhouse at Shirvali village of Panvel on Wednesday morning. The deceased identified were identified as Nitin Joshi, Balaram Tople, Ramdas Patil and Pritam Gharat, all are resident of Navi Mumbai.
According to New Panvel police, the farmhouse belongs to one deceased Ramdas's brother Dutta Patil. Dutta Patil claimed that he could not contact Ramdas for last two three days so he visited his farm house on Wednesday morning to see whether the latter had come to party there for Padwa. Dutta claimed that he found Balaram lying in pool of blood inside the farmhouse while the three others were found in the bushes. New Panvel police claimed that Balaram had felled by a bullet while the three others were allegedly bludgeoned to death with a hard object.
"Our preliminary investigation indicates that the murders have occurred due to rivalry in the land deals as all four were active in real estate business. We have started our investigation. We have registered a case against unknown persons under section 302 of IPC," said a police official of New Panvel police station.
