Man murders his acquaintance after fight over money

A man murdered his acquaintance by stabbing him to death after an argument over money in a north west suburb, police said on Monday.

Vijay Salvi had allegedly borrowed money from a friend Vijay Waghmare to consume liquor and the two had an argument over the amount being repaid, they said.

During the argument Waghmare allegedly pushed Salvi's wife due to which in a fit of rage Salvi took a kitchen knife and stabbed Waghmare, police said.

Waghmare was rushed to the Cooper Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and Salvi was taken into custody, they said.
