Two persons carrying unaccounted cash of Rs 44 lakh have been arrested at Crawford Market in South Mumbai, police said on Friday.
The accused identified as Sujit Shinde (21) and Ganesh Shinde (25), who hail from Latur in Marathwada region, were arrested and remanded to police custody till May 11.
According to MRA Marg police, the accused were travelling in a taxi when they were stopped on suspicion by the police at Crawford Market during 'nakabandi' on Thursday.
"When the police thoroughly checked, they found a bag filled with cash. The duo did not replied satisfactorily when asked about the huge amount carried by the duo," police said.

The duo were acting as a 'carrier; and were to deliver the money to some persons in Kalbadevi in south Mumbai, police said.
Police are investigating the matter further to nab the main kingpin, they added.
