A garbage dumper crushed a 72-year-old woman to death in Navghar in Mulund area on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identifed as Chayaa Yadav.
Police has arrested the driver of the dumper after he fled from the spot. He has been identified as Premchand Prajapati.

Yadav, retired from the Rajawadi Hospital, had left home in the morning to get her pension from the bank. After withdrawing the money, she went to buy vegetables in a nearby market.
The dumper bearing registration number MH-03-CP-8410 crashed her under the rare tyres in front of RR School.
"The pedestrians tried to save her but she was dead on the spot," Sunil Kamble, a Senior Inspector of Navghar police station said.
The driver has been has been booked under IPC section 304A (causing death by negligence) and relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act, he said.
