Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Wednesday hounoured dentists from across the state with 'Excellence in Dentristry' awards at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. The programme was organised by 'Mediyush', an organisation of dentists.
During the award ceremony, the Governor also unveiled the logo and tagline of the Maharashtra Government's 'Swachch Mukh Abhiyan'.

Observing that the modern practice of rinsing hands in a finger bowl after lunch or dinner was harmful for dental care, the Governor called upon dentists to create awareness to stop the practice.

Co-Founder of Mediyush Dr Govind Bhatane, Joint Director of Medical Education Dr Vivek Pakhmode, Indian Dental Association's Dr Ashok Dhobale, Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dental specialist Dr Sandesh Mayekar, Dr Darshan Dakshindas, Director of Kalika Steel Govind Goyal, Dr Vishwesh Thakre and doctors and specialists from Dentistry were present during the award ceremony.
