Three persons were arrested for allegedly opening fire at a man in Maharashtra's Palghar district, the police said on Friday, reported the PTI.
According to the news agency, unidentified men had opened fire at Mobin Asmat Sheikh with a revolver at his house in Gopcharpada around 3.30 am on January 15 and fled the spot, an official said.
No one was injured in the shooting, he said.
Four police teams were formed, and one of the accused, Mohit Thakur, was apprehended in neighbouring Mumbai, senior inspector Vijay Pawar of the Virar police station said, as per the PTI.

Mohit Thakur revealed that the other accused, Mastan Sheikh (39), had paid him Rs 1 lakh to carry out the shooting. Mohit Thakur and his accomplice opened fire at the complainant, he said.
Mastan and Ajay Thakur were apprehended in Gujarat, and the police have confiscated a country-made revolver, two live cartridges, two knives, and a motorcycle, the official said, as per the PTI.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a man allegedly stabbed his woman friend to death and later injured himself with a knife in Malad East area of Mumbai, the police said.
The dead woman has been identified as Mainabai Kashinath Giri (29) while the injured individual, Baburao More who is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the Kurar police, Mainabai, who originally resids in Maharashtra's Pune had left her husband four years ago and moved to Mumbai. During this time, she met Baburao, an auto driver.
"The two were in a relationship and had even started living togeather in Kranti Nagar in Malad East area. The situation escalated four days ago when Mainabai brought her husband home, leading to a dispute between Baburao and Mainabai," an official said.
The police said, on Thurday evening, Baburao called Mainabai out of the house, where they were first engaged in a heated argument. Later, in a fit of rage, Baburao fatally stabbed Mainabai using a knife. Subsequently, he also injured himself using the same knife. The locals promptly informed the Kurar police about the incident that rushed to the crime scene.
Senior Inspector Shashikant Jagdale of the Kurar Police Station and other senior officials arrived at the spot, the officials of Mumbai Crime Branch too reached the crime scene, sources said.
The police said, Mainabai was found lying in a pool of blood in a lane near the place where she had been living and Baburao was lying near her body, seriously wounded. He was rushed to a hospital.
"The exact motive behind Mahinabai's murder is not yet clear, and investigations are ongoing," said an officer from Kurar police station.
