The Western Railway has announced the foundation stone laying of eight stations by the Prime Minister minister for the redevelopment of stations on the western line. The project, according to travel experts will cause inconvenience to passengers in the short term but will be a part of major convenience in the long run.
Niraj Verma, DRM Western Railway, while talking to Mid-Day said, "On February 26, 2024, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the Foundation Stone of 66 stations, spanning across six divisions of Western Railway. "Additionally, provision of a 12m wide Foot Over Bridge has also been planned at Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Jogeshwari and Malad stations.
