Mumbai's test positivity rate (TPR) and daily new cases saw a rise on Saturday. As per BMC's report, 465 new cases and five deaths were reported on Saturday; the TPR was at 1.20 per cent. Of the five deaths, four had comorbidities.
In the state, new cases saw a marginal rise. As per the state health department report, 1,701 cases were reported along with 33 deaths across the state. The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 1,781 recovered and got discharged on Saturday.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a marginal rise in new cases. According to the state report, 762 cases were reported in the MMR region including cases from Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai reported the maximum number of daily cases with 59 new cases, followed by Thane Municipal Corporation and Kalyan-Dombivili with 44 cases each.

MNS president Raj Thackeray, who refused to wear a mask since the Coronavirus pandemic broke out, has tested positive for COVID-19. Thackeray's mother and sister have also picked up the infection.
Thackeray and his sister were at Lilavati Hospital on Saturday evening, where they were given a monoclonal cocktail drug. They had fever and malaise, according to the doctors treating them. They spent the night at the hospital. They will now be quarantined at home.
