Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray were in attendance of the event held by Dr Sanjay Borude.

The event was aimed at raising awareness about the growing problem of child obesity, emphasising the need for concerted efforts from all sectors of society to combat this health issue.

Dr Borude, the founder of Gen XL Obesity Foundation, moderated a talk between Fadnavis and Thackeray.

Gen XL Obesity Foundation, under Dr Borude's leadership, focuses on educating the public about obesity, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting children and families affected by obesity.

The talk centred around the increasing risk of child obesity and the measures the government will be taking to control the same.

Fadnavis, who said that child obesity has risen due to lifestyle issues, added that the Union government has introduced programmes to tackle the same.

When asked that whether military training or physical education is necessary to tackle the issue, Fadnavis said that the government has made it mandatory for schools to have open ground for physical education training.

Speaking at the event Raj Thackeray said that it is crucial to engage in sports to prevent child obesity and urged Dr Borude to come up with a obesity monitor for parents.

Thackeray claimed that with the introduction and growing accessibility of "fast food" in the country has led to the rise in child obesity.
