The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest Mumbai weather update, issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Sunday as well, with heavy rain likely to continue

The city witnessed heavy rain on Saturday, resulting in traffic snarls caused by waterlogging in low-lying areas like Kurla, Mahim, Dadar, Sion, and Matunga 

Commuters faced inconvenience as traffic congestion was reported at Kurla LBS Road and the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road amid heavy rain

BMC workers opened the manhole lid today near Gandhi Market to alleviate the ankle-deep water accumulated in the area

A high tide of about 4.28 metres hit Mumbai at 11.47am today, while another high tide of 3.66 is expected at 11.37pm, stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)

Between 8.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday, the Colaba observatory recorded 37.8mm of rainfall, while the Santacruz observatory recorded 47.1mm of rainfall

The highest amount of rainfall in the same 6-hour period was recorded at the Sion observatory, which saw 78mm of rainfall, followed by Vikhroli (58.5mm) and Matunga (57mm) 

The maximum temperature in the city settled at 31 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be recorded at 26 degrees Celsius

Meanwhile, the neighbouring districts of Thane and Palghar have been issued an orange and red alert, respectively, for August 4 

The IMD has issued a red alert for Pune and Satara districts. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has asked the administration to be alert on a war footing
