A large number of supporters accompanied the MNS leader, who did a road show before filing the nomination  

The MNS had won only one seat in the previous assembly polls. It looks to better its performance this time

The MNS has announced 45 names so far for the Maharashtra Assembly election

The party has decided to go solo and said it will not be a part of either of the alliances

Bala Nandgaonkar had started his political journey with the Shiv Sena but later switched to Raj Thackeray-headed MNS

He is a three-time legislator and has won from the Murud-Janjira and Shivadi (Sewri) constituencies 

Ajay Choudhari is the current MLA from Shivadi. He is from Shiv Sena (UBT). However, his name did not feature in the party's list

On Thursday, MNS leader Avinash Jadhav filed his nomination from Thane. He was accompanied by party chief Raj Thackeray

The MNS is looking to wrest some seats from its opponents in Thane and Mumbai

The Maharashtra Assembly election will be held on November 20 in a single phase

The counting will be held three days later on November 23. The votes for the Jharkhand Assembly election will also be counted on the same day

There are 288 seats in Maharashtra Assembly

The ruling alliance comprises BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP, while the Opposition MVA alliance consists of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP)
