Not content with creating a ruckus in the Maharashtra Assembly after Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi took oath in Hindi, MNS activists went on a rampage pelting stones in different parts of the city.
The activists also burnt effigies of Abu Azmi in different places including Kothrud and Pimpri. State transport buses were stoned in Khadakwasala, Warje, Kothrud and Nigdi.
City President of MNS Prakash Dhore said, "What happened was the result of anger towards Azmi's decision to take his oath in Hindi.

This was an insult to the Marathi language, which Maharashtrians could not tolerate."
The vice president of MNS Sachin Pawar said, "It was a spontaneous reaction of the MNS. However, there was no direction from the MNS chief to attack buses," he said.
The police arrested 48 MNS activists in three different areas that include Nigdi, Warje and Kothrud, and a case of rioting has been registered against them.
According to D A Pardeshi, the spokesperson of PMPL, which runs the city buses, the miscreants attacked 21 buses in Warje, Singhagad Road and Balaji Nagar.
However, there were no reports of any injuries to any people.
