Alcohol-driven camaraderie culminates in a fight

A 29-year-old suffered injuries after getting into a fight with two men over a language issue in Chikpet police limits.

Suraj, a resident of Sheshadripuram, was beaten up around 1 am when he was returning home with his friend.

His friend also suffered a few injuries on his hand. The accused were later caught by the police.

Suraj and his friend stopped Deepak (19) and Kamalesh (20) hailing from Rajasthan and asked if they knew a place where they could get liquor.

Deepak, who was looking for a restaurant, saw a food packet in Suraj's hand and told him that heu00a0 had liquor to share in exchange for food.

While drinking, Kamalesh kept talking in broken Kannada, which enraged Suraj.u00a0

Suraj objected to this and asked Kamalesh to talk properly which resulted in abuse and punches being exchanged between the duo.

A few autorickshaw drivers reached the spot and informed the police, who arrested all four and sent Suraj for medical treatment.

G Jayaram, ASI, Upparpet police station in-charge, said, "Their behaviour was shocking. They kept beating Suraj even in front of us.u00a0 We will take suitable action against them."
