Enjoy a lavish spread of kebabs at The Great Kebab Factory, which now has a branch at MGF Mall, Saket
There're certain dishes that appear 'forced' in a vegetarian menu like biryani, vegetarian pancakes and kebabs. Though biryani continues to be looked upon as a delight that's best enjoyed by meat-eaters, kebab has managed to strike a balance.
Though vegetarian kebabs are readily available in eateries, not everyone is able to live up to the surrounding expectations. The Great Kebab Factory (TGKF) tries to be an exception, and they succeed too. Read on to know why.

It's a cakewalk
It isn't easy to eat out. Right from choosing where to eat, in which corner to sit and what to eat, eating out is loaded with questions. But at TGKF, everything is pretty easy. Since the entire space looks interesting, you can get seated anywhere. The wrought iron and wooden furniture and hanging utensils give you that factory kind of feeling.
Even the cutlery provided to the guests resemble tools in a factory. Since theyu00a0primarily operate on buffet basis, the hassle of picking dishes from the menu is eliminated.
All the menu items are served to your table in a pre-decided chronological order. You can repeat any item any number of time. The restaurant has been planned in such a way that every patron gets a view of the kitchen.u00a0u00a0

Well presented
The real asset of this eatery is not their kitchen but the staff that serves what comes out of it. Never ever, have I seen such well-informed staff. Before serving any kebab, they'll tell you how the dish has been prepared and which chutney or bread will taste best with it. Plus, they don't intrude unnecessarily. Even then they make sure that you're not neglected in any way.
Drinks can wait
Though I had visited the place with an idea of getting high, I ended with filling my stomach rather than quenching my thirst.
Their signature galouti and barrah kebabs are served everyday, though other varieties keep changing. Tandoori broccoli and subz galouti incorporate uniqueness to the dining experience.
"We have more than 400 vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebab varieties to choose from but since it's not possible to serve all of it on any given day we keep changing our menu everyday.
We also serve aam ke kebab and bair ke kebab but only when these fruits are available in market. You don't get the right taste from the preserved ingredients. Our recipe is a combination of ancient and contemporary techniques," says executive chef Amit Gupta.
"Whether roasted on the tandoor or on a singhri, shallow-fried inu00a0a tawa, deep-fried in a kadhai, steamed in pots, or even grilled on a stone, we ensure an enriching combination of ancient and contemporary techniques,"
he adds.
The kebabs can be clubbed either with ulte tawe ka parantha or sheermaal, saffron-flavored bread which has its origin in Iran, Pakistan and Lucknow. If buffet is not your idea of dining, try their seating menu which includes several varieties of breads, veg/ non-veg biryani, daal, raita and seasonal vegetables.
