But this is exactly what the Gujarati-Rajasthani thali place Rajdhani has dared to do, in the form of the Asparagus Bhakri, though it's only available on order. You can also choose from mushroom and baby corn varieties, along with more conventional ones like methi and palak.


An initiative of Mohan Varier, manager of Rajdhani's Mulund branch, it gives widely-travelled palates something to root for. "The best part about the fusion is that both, the bhakri and the asparagus, act like dual wonders for your body as they are both high on the health metre," he says.

We found the crisp bhakris a tad too sweet for our taste, but its fibrous nature and Gujarati flavour makes
it a must try.
