Col Purohit's judicial custody extended

The judicial custody of Lt colonel Prasad Purohit, an accused in September 29 Malegaon blasts, was on Thursday extended till March 18 by a local court here in a case of procuring arms licence allegedly on fake documents.


The judicial custody of Lt Colonel Prasad Purohit, an accused in September 29 Malegaon blasts, was on Thursday extended till March 18 by a local court here in a case of procuring arms licence allegedly on fake documents.

Purohit was produced before judge VV Joshi here as his judicial remand ended today, his counsel Avinash Bhide said.

The case was filed by Pune resident Shirish Datey on November 16 alleging that the licence for his gun was obtained by Purohit from the army quota using fake documents.
