After sustaining skull fracture during police atrocities in Ramlila Maidan, hospital tries to discharge Sunil Kumar even before he is fully cured
First he got critically injured due to police atrocities in Ramlila Maidan on June 5, then he almost got thrown out of a government hospital where he was undergoing treatment. Sunil Kumar (24), who hails from Jharkhand, has fractures on the skull, has still not recovered fully.

Authorities at Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan hospital have been trying to discharge him from last Tuesday. But following a heated exchange on Friday, he has been asked to stay on till he recovers. Sarvesh Kumar (49), who is from Patanjali Yog Peeth, accused the hospital authorities of trying to discharge Sunil early. He said: "Doctors were trying to send Sunil home even before his stitches have been removed. I even had an argument with the doctors."
"The doctors said if he is discharged then there would be an extra bed for emergency. I do not know why they are trying to get rid of him," said Chandrashekhar, also from Patanjali Yog Peeth. Sunil's father, Jeevlal Mahato said: "I never had an argument with any of the doctors, though Sarvesh and Chandrashekhar did have an argument with them regarding Sunil."
In another incident, Rajbala (50), who also sustained spinal injuries during police crackdown, continues to be in a critical state at the adjoining Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital.u00a0"There are still many complications. Her condition has improved slightly but she still continues to be on ventilator," said Rakesh Mallik, Rajbala's daughter-in-law.
Rajbala is currently in a paralysed state.
