In a shocking incindent, a Kerala-based man was caught trying to take 'upskirt' videos on women with a camera fixed to his chappal. The incident was reported at the Kerala Kalolsavam in Thrissur.
The man, who has been identified as 'Baiju', had cut a small slit, the size of his phone's camera lense' at the tip of his slippers. He would then move around crowds of unsuspecting girls and women.
The accused was, however, caught by vigilant pollice officers who were present at the venue, after he kept moving through the crowds shiftily, while continuously glancincing at his foot.

According to a report in The News Minute, a police officer was quoted as having said, "He would just stand in a crowd and try to take videos. Sometimes he would keep the camera on and keep the slipper in a crowd and he would just watch from a distance. I have never seen something like this."
The report also suggests that the accused had ingeniously encased his phone in a steel body so as to prevent its cracking if stamped upon accidentally. He even carried a secondary phone with him in case the original mobile phone ran out of battery.
