After taking on RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, BJP's firebrand leader Subramanian Swamy now wants another top economist sacked -- Arvind Subramanian. So who exactly is Arvind Subramanian?

Arvind Subramanian is the Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India. He took charge of the post on October 16, 2014, succeeding Raghuram Rajan.

Earlier, Subramanian was an economist at the International Monetary Fund, and is a highly renowned expert on the economics of India, China, and as well as the changing balance of global economic power.

In addition, Subramanian has authored two books -- 'India's Turn: Understanding the Economic Transformation and 'Eclipse: Living in the Shadow of China's Economic Dominance'.

In the year 2011, he was named as one of world's top 100 global thinkers by Foreign Policy magazine.
