Shattered and unable to bear the loss of her 23-year-old son who hanged himself, a 42-year-old mother committed suicide in a double tragedy that shocked the residents of Dhankwadi area yesterday.

Pramod Uttarkar, believed to be upset over a job loss in a private company, went to his friend's room yesterday afternoon when nobody was inside and hanged himself to death from the ceiling.
When Yogesh, his friend who had rented the room came back, he was shocked to seeu00a0 Pramod's body.
He then reported the incident to the police and also informed Pramod's family.
Even as the police arrived on the scene and completedu00a0 the panchanama to send the body for post mortem to Sassoon hospital, Pramod's mother Vasanti followed her son in death as she too hanged herself in the kitchen of the house.
