Men at the gate, ostensibly in charge of securing the building compound, tell us that the closure was a consequence of the restaurant's inability to draw clientele, while Tiwari, a security guard, posted by the fading creepers that once adorned the entrance, assures us that proprietor Sanju Dwivedi has renovations in progress to ensure that a new eatery is up and running soon.

An eatery license pasted below a plaque engraved with the name, "Sanju's restaurant" supports the watchman's claim as does a large, "Opening shortly" sign posted at the narrow entrance of the deserted joint.

But so far, there's no word on what the new place is going to be like.

We just hope it can dish out at least as much as its predecessor did great North Indian food with a creative twist.
