A 33-year-old petrol pump employee was booked for embezzling Rs 5.8 lakh meant to be deposited with the owner of the outlet. The Shivajinagar police said Devendra alias Ajay Shyam Parmar, a resident of the ICS Colony in Bhosale Nagar, pocketed the amount collected under the Petro Card scheme since August 30.
Bharat Devji Sangoi (55), the pump manager, unearthed the fraud and lodged a forgery complaint with the Shivajinagar police on Saturday.
