If your weekend plans include window-shopping at the Palladium, don,t be surprised to see customers reclining on a bed, tinkering with a microwave or surfing channels bang in the middle of the buzzing mall.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan has organised Feel Japan Style in Indiau00a0-- a four-day test-drive to figure whether the Indian consumer is interested in high-end, high-qualityu00a0 Japanese innovations.

In a guided tour, as you walk into the 1,500 sq feet wooden house depicting an urban Indian house, constructed from scratch in two days, a touch-and-feel experience by various Japanese brands awaits you. In the living room, take a breather on a massage lounger or gawk at the LCD TV with a Blu-Ray Dynabook. Kitchen appliances and exquisite porcelain tableware are showcased in the kitchen area while the two bedrooms stock up on an infant care range, beauty and wellness products. If automobiles turn you on, step into the sunlit courtyard and check out the Toyota Land Cruiser VX and Nissan Teana XL. With so much to see and choose from, it,s a bummer that you can,t buy any of the products, since they,re not on sale.u00a0

"The exhibition showcases more than 100 products representing true Japan style," says Tetsuya Watanabe, Director of Asia and Pacific Division, METI.

Till: March 15. At: Palladium, Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel.
