Add a drop of Chemical X to the donuts from SH Donut Empire to get your own superpowers and turn into the Power Puff Girls, the sweet-toothed version, that is
Food courts tend to be pretty disappointing. Yes, that is a sweeping generalisation. But based on our post-late night movie meals at malls with an attached multiplex, we have come to the conclusion that food courts must simply be the last option available.
The food court at one of Ghatkopar's swankier malls too has its usual suspects counters for kebabs, dosas, pizzas and pani puris. In the clutter, however, the bright yellow counter of SH Donut Empire stands apart.

It's clean and devoid of the chaos that usually surfaces behind understaffed and under-spaced counters in food courts. Two attendants carefully help us with our order.
Noticing our gluttonous tendency, they suggest we opt for the pack of six donuts (Rs 165), rather than single donuts (Rs 30).
The only hitch is that the specially priced box of six does not include donuts with filling. We preferred to sacrifice the extra carbs for the paisa-vasool offer.
Exotic-looking flavours of donuts like Go Green, which has a layer of green tea chocolate, T'Misu (coffee cream with custard cheese filling), Mango Custard (with mango custard filling) and Rising Sun (orange custard base with chocolate strips) have not been launched yet.

So, we packed in Simply Donut (signature donut with snow powder), Cinnamon (white chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon), Crunchy (dark chocolate base with coco pop), Oreo Trust (white chocolate with crushed Oreo cookies), Creamy Hill (premium dark chocolate with coffee cream and the aroma of cinnamon) and Berry Good (blueberry jam dusted with snow powder).

The concept of a crunchy donut was interesting and mouthful. But the simple Cinnamon worked best for us the sugar and spice combination was perfect.
All we needed was a piping hot cup of coffee and a beautiful veranda to watch the rainfall from a distance. If only! The donuts are vegetarian, eggless to be specific. We were a bit wary about an eggless bakery but SH Donut Empire did not disappoint us. Go ahead; get your own ring-shaped fried cake.
